Ingredients

Meat Sauce

  • 1 pound ground turkey sausage removed from casings
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 small yellow onion diced
  • 2 teaspoons of garlic paste
  • 2 17.5 ounces crushed tomatoes
  • 2 8-ounce cans tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons garlic and herb seasoning
  • ½ tablespoon onion powder
  • ½ tablespoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper

Ricotta Mixture

  • 15 ounces whole-milk ricotta cheese
  • ½ cup Sour Cream
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 ½ cup of Shredded 6 Cheese Italian
  • 1 teaspoon of dried parsley

Layers

  • 4 1/2 cups of Shredded 6 Cheese Italian divided
  • Oven Ready Lasagna Noodles - 9oz
  • Parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • Heat oven to 425 degrees F. Lightly grease a 9-by-13-inch baking dish.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat add olive oil, cook the ground turkey and ground turkey sausage until it browns. Break up the meat combination while it cooks.
  • Add in the dice onions. Cook until they soften, then add in the garlic. Add in the crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, then tomato paste. Mix the ingredients until everything is well combined. Then add in the garlic and herb seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, pepper, and brown sugar. Mix the seasonings in, turn the heat down to low medium heat, and cook for 15 minutes.
  • In a medium bowl, mix ricotta cheese, sour cream, egg, seasonings and shredded cheese and mix the ingredients until well combined. Set the ricotta mixture to the side.
  • In the prepared baking dish, add a little of the meat sauce to the bottom. Add a layer of lasagna noodles, then spread a layer of the ricotta mixture over the pasta and cheese. Add a layer of the meat sauce, and another layer of the ricotta. Repeat. Add a final layer of pasta, then sauce, then cover with shredded cheese. Place in the oven for 30 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbling. Remove from the oven, garnish with parsley, and let sit for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Make sure the sauce is covering the final top layer. If not add a little water in the corners.
