Do you get excited for the weekend to come? Write out a list of all these amazing tasks you’re going to accomplish?

Yep! I’m guilty of it!

Only to enter into a lazy weekend, where you just don’t want to do anything at all. Do you ever have those weekends where you just want to lay around and do absolutely nothing?

If you are guilty too, it’s okay. That’s just the way it goes, sometimes. You’re just tired and mentally drained and just want to relax.

Don’t feel guilty. It is perfectly normal. Give yourself permission to have a lazy weekend and let your kids do whatever just so you can adjust.

If you ever face a lazy weekend here are a few things that you can do.

Sleep In

If you get up early before your kids in order to get things done and uninterrupted, this is the weekend to sleep in. Most likely, you have not been getting your recommended 7 to 9 hours of sleep, anyway. Sometimes our body just needs rest! It is okay to not wake up and wash the dishes or put a load in the laundry. It will get done, eventually. Choose to sleep in.  You will feel relaxed and energized afterward which will enable you to complete most, if not all of your tasks for the day.

Self-Care

Take a bubble bath, go get a manicure and pedicure, just go treat yourself. As moms we do so much and sometimes you just need a break to be lazy from your weekend routine to just treat yourself and make yourself feel good. There is not a time as a mom when we don’t deserve it 😉

Read a Book

Lay in the bed or on the couch and read a book. Sometimes just spending hours reading a really good book is totally worth it. Here are few of the books I want to read.

You may have a few interruptions from your kids because they need something to eat but just pick back up where you left off.

There are times where I tell my boys that we are having reading time. I set the timer(affiliate link) and we all read for about 25 minutes.

The boys look forward to the timer going off sometimes. LOL

Watch TV

I don’t really watch TV but sometimes when I just don’t feel like doing anything I will binge watch a few shows. I have even started up on a new TV series and watched all the seasons.

I actually enjoy watching the television shows this way because I like how I lose less time since there are not any commercials on demand.

Online Shopping

Go online and browse the sales and see if you can find any deals. Or just browse around to see what you might get at a later date.

The great thing about this is that you can be in the bed or couch in your PJs with no lines or crowds. You can’t beat that.

Go ahead and give yourself permission to have a lazy weekend and don’t make yourself.
