This crispy shrimp recipe is tossed in a delicious sauce that is creamy and spicy.
Bang Bang Shrimp Ingredients
The ingredients for this air fryer shrimp recipe can easily be found at your local grocery store.

Bang Bang Sauce Ingredients:
- Mayonnaise
- Sweet Thai chili sauce
- Sriracha sauce
- Rice vinegar
- Worcestershire sauce
Air Fryer Shrimp Ingredients:
- Fresh raw shrimp
- Cornstarch
- Buttermilk
- Panko breadcrumbs
- Seasonings
- Cooking oil spray (for spraying in air fryer)
- Parsley for garnish (optional)
How to Make Air Fryer Bang Bang Shrimp
- In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, sriracha, rice vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce.
2. In a shallow bowl, add buttermilk and set aside. Place cornstarch in a shallow dish and add seasoning salt. In a third bowl, add panko crumbs.
3. Season shrimp. Coat shrimp in cornstarch first, then buttermilk and finally, in the panko crumbs.
4. Place shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket and spray with oil. Cook at 400°F for 5 minutes. Flip shrimp over and cook another 5 minutes.
5. Remove from the air fryer and drizzle bang bang sauce over shrimp. Enjoy!
How long to cook shrimp in the Air Fryer
The cook time for shrimp depends on the size of shrimp you are using. For this recipe the shrimp will be golden brown around the 9 to 10 minute timeframe.
The smaller the shrimp the shorter the time and the larger the shrimp the longer the time.
How to store and reheat
The bang bang shrimp leftovers can be stored up to three days in your refrigerator. To reheat your leftovers, heat them at 325 for about 3-4 minutes in your air fryer.
For a quick reheat you can put them in the microwave but please know that they won’t be as crispy as before.

Air Fryer Bang Bang Shrimp
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- ½ cup Thai sweet chili sauce
- 1 teaspoon of rice wine vinegar
- 2 dashes of Worcestershire sauce
- ⅛ to ¼ cup sriracha sauce depending on your heat preference. I used ¼ cup for a really spicy kick
- 2 lb large shrimp peeled and deveined
- 2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon of seasoning blend
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon of seasoning salt
- 1 cup of buttermilk
- 1 ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
- parsley optional for garnish
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, sriracha, rice vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce.
- In a shallow bowl, add buttermilk and set aside. Place cornstarch in a shallow dish and add seasoning salt. In a third bowl, add panko crumbs.
- Season shrimp with garlic powder, onion powder, and seasoning blend. Coat shrimp in cornstarch first, then buttermilk and finally, in the panko crumbs.
- Place shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket and spray with oil. Cook at 400°F for 5 minutes. Flip shrimp over and cook another 5 minutes.
